What is the Virtual Comics Clocktower?
Each year we invite applications from creators to take part in our version of a marketplace at the Kendal Town Hall and this year is no exception … apart from it’s not in a physical space this time around.
We have, as always, curated our Comics Clocktower so that it represents the exciting range of independent comic art in the UK with a sprinkling of international creators, publishers and retailers.
We invite you to meet the creators, sample their work and then, if you like it, buy some comics, prints and other merchandise available here. We make no charge to our creators nor take any commission whatsoever.
How does it work?
All of our creators are third-party vendors and conduct business through their own independent websites, with the exception of a few who don’t currently have dedicated web shops.
Wherever you see a “Buy Product” button on an item, you will be taken to an external site to complete your purchase. Wherever you see an “Add to Cart” button (such as LICAF’s own shop), that means those items will be added to your shopping cart on this website where you can checkout after you’ve finished browsing.
Feel free to mix and match and support as many artists as you like, but don’t forget you may have to make purchases from several separate locations — we don’t want you missing out on any of your goodies!
Please note, the following answers only apply to products purchased from the Lakes International Comic Art Festival Shop, all other vendors are independent parties and have their own shipping and returns policies. Please check their respective websites if you have any questions or concerns.
How are your products made? *
We work with a reliable, high-quality print-on-demand drop shipper. They have locations worldwide, so depending on where you are, your orders are printed and shipped from the facility that can do it most efficiently!
Where will my order ship from? *
We work with an on-demand order fulfillment company with facilities worldwide!
When will I get my order? *
It takes 3-7 days to fulfill an order, after which it’s shipped out. The shipping time depends on your location, but can be estimated as follows:
USA: 5-8 business days
International: 10-20 business days
Will I be charged customs for my order? *
An additional customs and tax fee can occur on international orders. This fee is not in our control and is assessed by your local customs office. Customs policies vary widely for every country so please check with your local customs office directly to see if they apply duties and taxes to your purchases.
My order should be here by now, but I still don’t have it. What should I do? *
Before getting in touch with us, please help us out by doing the following:
• Check your shipping confirmation email for any mistakes in the delivery address.
• Ask your local post office if they have your package.
• Stop by your neighbours in case the courier left the package with them.
Pro tip: Package theft is on the rise — If you’re expecting a home delivery and you know you won’t be home to accept it, use an address where you know you’ll be!
If the shipping address was correct, and the package wasn’t left at the post office or at your neighbour’s, get in touch with us at email@example.com with your order number.
If you did find a mistake in your delivery address, we can send you a replacement order, but shipping will be at your own cost.
How do I track my order? *
If your shipping method includes tracking, you’ll receive a tracking link via email when your order ships out. You can check the status of your order here.
What’s your return policy? *
Sorry, we don’t offer returns and exchanges at this time.
Do you offer refunds? *
Refunds are only offered to customers that receive the wrong items or damaged items. If any of these apply, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with photos of wrong/damaged items and we’ll sort that out for you.
Can I exchange an item for a different size/color? *
At this time, we don’t offer exchanges. Though rare, it’s possible that an item you ordered was mislabelled. If that’s the case, please let us know at email@example.com within a week after receiving your order. Include your order number and photos of the mislabeled item, and we’ll send you a new one, or issue a refund!
